Barbara E. Creger

Barbara E. Creger, 69, of Rockford, passed away peacefully at home on April 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 17, 1956, Barbara was the daughter of Roger E. and Jeanne (Reichenbach) Schultz. She was a proud graduate of Belvidere High School, Class of 1974, and pursued additional college coursework. Barbara worked in customer service, where her warm personality and genuine care for others left a lasting impression on those she helped. Barbara loved reading, cheering on her favorite football teams, crocheting, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren, especially watching them play sports. 

Survivors include her children, Sarah E. Barnes and David L. Hendrickson; grandchildren, Alexis M. Unseth, Derek L. Creger, Makenzie L. Hendrickson, Mya J. Hendrickson, Donovin L. Barnes, David L. Hendrickson Jr., Stephen T. Boone Jr. and Dax E. Barnes; great-grandchildren, Waylon P. Unseth and Lynnie S. Unseth; sisters, Catherine A. Madison, Cynthia J. Feldman and Deborah L. Dreger; aunt, Jennifer M. Wallace and relatives, Mark and Cindy Neilson, Karen Juedes and Kristie Cankle.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the OSF Hospice Team for their care of Barbara. 

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Freedom Through The Word Church, 2115 S. Alpine Road, Rockford, IL 61108.  A time of fellowship and gathering for close family and friends will follow the service.
