Alan Ross Henrickson, 88, passed away at Fairhaven Retirement Center on July 17, 2022. Al was born in Radisson, Wisconsin on January 2, 1934. He graduated from Carl Shurz High School and worked as a self-employed masonry contractor. He loved music, especially the southern gospel quartet. Al also loved sports and enjoyed following all of the Chicago sports teams. He was passionate about golf which he enjoyed for many years. Al loved the Lord and was a founding member of Medinah Baptist Church where he faithfully served for many years as the choir director.
Al is survived by his wife, Janice, of 67 years; three children, James Henrickson (Cindy); Brian Henrickson (Susan); and Gayle Lollar (Scott); 9 grandchildren, Daniel Henrickson (Kelly), Andrew Henrickson, Tara Parke (Christopher), Tamara McGinnis (Christopher), Lindsey Naseh (Youssef), Justin Derkson, Jared Derkson (Shawna), Jason Lollar (Melissa) and Kayla Lollar; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Curtis Henrickson (Dee), Carol Borglin and Bruce Henrickson (Gayle). He was predeceased by his parents, Melvin and Pearl Henrickson, and sister, Joan Allen.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, September 2, 2022, in Fairhaven Christian Retirement Community, 3470 N. Alpine Rd, Rockford, Illinois, with a memorial visitation from 1:00 pm until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fairhaven Christian Retirement Community.
