In Loving Memory of Agnes June Guzzardo
Agnes passed away on October 30, 2025, at the age of 86 in Roscoe, Illinois. Her life was a radiant example of grace, kindness, and unwavering devotion to the Lord. Born to Russell and Hazel Pope, Agnes grew up in Iowa and graduated from English Valley High School in North English. She graduated from Iowa Wesleyan, where she met the love of her life and husband of 65 years, Frank Guzzardo. She dedicated her life to raising her four children and spreading kindness to everyone she met.
Agnes lived a life grounded in faith and overflowing with love. She was a devoted follower of Christ. Agnes served on several committees at Christ Methodist Church and Heartland Community Church. Whether hosting clothing drives, mission trips, teaching children, serving at church, or giving massages, Agnes led by example and inspired others to grow in their faith. Her home was a place of hospitality, laughter, and prayer. Her happiest moments were spent surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whom she adored. She cherished her lifelong friendships and her best friend Christian “sisters.” Her favorite family tradition was an annual vacation to Lake of the Ozarks with the extended family.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Guzzardo; her children, Dave Guzzardo (Sherry), Don Guzzardo (Thu), and Sheryl Hepburn; grandchildren, Nick Reierson (Katie), Brianna Kelley (Daniel), Jennifer Underwood (David), Emily Brooks (Dalton), Rose Hepburn, Angela Berge, Sam Hepburn (Jenna), Steven Reierson (Binu), and Taylor Guzzardo; and 11 great-grandchildren: Daniel, Maria, Isabelle, Seth, Lillian, Aliyah, Gabriella, Josiah, Jacob, Theodore, Brielle and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Reierson (Jeff); great-granddaughter, Seraphina Underwood; parents, Russell and Hazel Pope; brother, Charles Pope; and sister, Mary Devault.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Hope Evangelical Church. Visitation will begin at 9:30am, with an 11:00am celebration of life, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Agnes’s honor to:
