Adelmo Gonzalez, 76, of Rockford, passed away with his family by his side on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. He was born in Mexico on January 25, 1950.
Adelmo retired about 20 years ago. He enjoyed gardening, fruits and vegetables, and spending time with his grandchildren, family, and friends.
Adelmo is survived by his wife of 42 years, Maria Gonzalez; children, Maria (Richard) Gonzalez, Rosa (Carlos) Campos, Icidora (Andres) Medrano, Secilia Delgado, Adelmo, Jr. (Thalia) Gonzalez; 20 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two sisters and five brothers.
Predeceased by his parents, Atilano and Maria Gonzalez; sons, Juan and Nicolas Gonzalez; brothers, Luciano and Francisco Gonzalez; nephew, Mario Gonzalez; and cousin, Antonio Reyes.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2026, in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory-Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park, IL 61111. Mass of Christian Burial will be in St. Edward Catholic Church, 3004-11th Street, Rockford, IL 61109, at 11:00 AM, on Monday, May 11th, 2026. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Winnebago. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.

Adelmo se jubiló hace aproximadamente 20 años. Disfrutaba de la jardinería, de las frutas y verduras, y de pasar tiempo con sus nietos, su familia y sus amigos.

Le precedieron en fallecimiento sus padres, Atilano y Maria Gonzalez; sus hijos, Juan y Nicolas Gonzalez; sus hermanos, Luciano y Francisco Gonzalez; su sobrino, Mario Gonzalez; y su primo, Antonio Reyes.
La visitación será de 3:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m. el sábado 9 de mayo de 2026 en Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory – Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park, IL 61111. La Misa de Funeral Cristiano se celebrará en St. Edward Catholic Church, ubicada en 3004 11th Street, Rockford. El sepelio será en Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
