A. John Vicencio, 73, of Rockford, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021. He was born on September 12, 1947 in Kingsville, TX to Apolonio and Anselma (Sigala) Vicencio. John was employed with Rock River Water Reclamation for 21 years. He was a member of the Verdi Club and the Venetian Club. John enjoyed working in the yard, helping his kids with whatever they needed, spending time with his grandchildren and watching them play sports.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Vicencio; sons, Matthew (Amber) and Michael (Jill) Vicencio; daughter, Sara (Clinton Edge) Vicencio; grandchildren, Angel Reece, Isaac Peyton, Abigail Kloster, Jacob Mueller, Kaden Vicencio, Brennan Vicencio, Grayson Vicencio and Cooper Vicencio; sisters, Lupe (Ray) Castro, Lola Vicencio and Maria Fessenden; brother, Jesse (Debbi) Vicencio and brother-in-law, Craig (Julie) Bredeson. Predeceased by his daughter, Leslie Vicencio; parents; brothers, Joe and Tony Vicencio; sisters, Celerina Gonzalez and Maria Blake.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park, IL 61111 with visitation from 4:00 p.m. until time of service. Memorials can be made to the family to decide at a later date. Masks and social distancing are required.
