William F. Smith

William F. Smith, 81, of Rockford passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 18, 2017.  Born in Garden Prairie, IL on December 29, 1935 to Donald and Margaret (Lander) Smith; married the former Nancy Powers.  Bill was in product design at Sundstrand for 40 years.  He served in the Army Reserves for 8 years and was a member of Heartland Church.  He enjoyed his time with family and their family vacations as well as his daily lunches with his best friends. 

Survived by his wife, Nancy; daughters, Stephanie Calato and Lisa Smith; grandchildren, Aaron (Mayra) Smith and their son, Liam, Alexis (Quinten) Traylor and their son, Noah, Christian Traylor and Joshua Smith; brothers, Jack (Irene), David (Sharon) and Jerry (Kittie) Smith; sisters, Pat Van Allen and Shirley Blume; sister-in-law, Kay Smith.  Predeceased by parents; son, Steven Smith; daughter, Allison Corpora; brother, Jim Smith; brothers-in-law, Dick Van Allen and Donald Blume.

Funeral service will be at 11:00am with a visitation at 9:30am until the service on Thursday, June 22, 2017 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park.  Burial in Arlington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Heartland Community Church.
