It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tessa Snyder, a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, who departed from this world too soon on February 7, at the tender age of 35. Born on June 1, 1988, in Omaha, NE, Tessa's life was a beautiful journey of compassion, creativity, and love for the natural world. A 2006 graduate of Falls City High School, she went on to earn an associate degree in Medical Assisting, a field that aligned with her passion for caring for others. She also earned an esthetician diploma.
Tessa's appreciation for the natural world was profound; she found beauty in the simplicity and wonder of Mother Nature. As an ardent supporter of the Arbor Day Foundation, she committed herself to the preservation and celebration of our planet's precious resources.
An avid painter, she expressed her feelings through her art. Her creative process was inspired by the world around her, transforming those inspirations into brush strokes.
The companionship of her little dogs provided her with comfort in times of need. She also loved to immerse herself in music, sharing these tunes with her friends and family on more than one occasion. Tessa enjoyed cooking, learning about nutrition, and the science behind what we eat.
An old soul, Tessa cherished life's simple pleasures, including moments spent fishing with her father and embracing the tranquility of nature. A faithful viewer of PBS, she engaged with the world with curiosity and an open heart, always eager to learn and understand more.
As we mourn Tessa's passing, we also celebrate the incredible life she led and the countless lives she touched. We invite those who knew her to share their memories and stories, as we remember her remarkable spirit.
Tessa is survived by her loving parents, Russ and Mitzi; her brother, Tegan, his wife Danielle, and their children, Arlo and Jude; grandmother Mary Marshall, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins whose individual lights brought immense joy to Tessa. Each family member, and her extended family of friends and pets held a special place in her heart.
Tessa is predeceased by her paternal grandmother, Joanne Snyder, and maternal grandfather Donald “Ray” Marshall.
In loving memory of Tessa, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arbor Day Foundation or a mental health charity of your choice, honoring her dedication to nurturing both the environment and the well-being of those around her.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Nebraska.
