Stephen J. Monson

Stephen J. Monson, 64, of Rockton, passed away Friday, July 19, 2019 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born on March 12, 1955 in Iowa City, Iowa to Roger and Beverly (Sponem) Monson. Stephen graduated from Palmer College in Davenport, Iowa in 1978. He married Kelly Hoeg on February 14, 2001 in Rockton. Stephen was a chiropractor for over 30 years and owned and operated Monson Chiropractic Clinic. He enjoyed boating, farmers markets, the outdoors and spending time with his grandchildren. 

Survivors include his wife, Kelly Monson; children, Brian (Vanessa) Monson, Thomas (Rachel) Monson and Ashley (Jeremy Baxter) Carter; grandchildren, Noah Monson, Avery Carter, Brooklyn Carter, Benjamin Monson and Elijah Monson; sister, Sandra McKone.  Predeceased by his parents. 

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory, Roscoe Chapel, 11342 Main St., Roscoe, IL 61073 with Pastor Anthony Maynard officiating. Visitation from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
