Sad to hear this. She was young. Sandy was a good employee who cared about her job, a rarity. She will be missed.

Oh, I was so shocked and saddened to learn that Sandy died. She was really one of the great ones. She was very helpful to me at the IL EPA and was a lovely person. I would see her time to time at the Pec Thing but hadn't seen her, sadly, in years. I will forever be grateful to her for her perseverance in trying to hold IL EPA management accountable to the AFSCME contract and for standing up for people who are maligned. I will miss her wonderful smile and fighting spirit. She rose in the ranks of the IL EPA and was a force to reckon with. There should be more people there like her. Sincerest condolences to her family. Rest in peace, faithful servant!

I worked with Sandy for a long time at the EPA. She was a very special lady and alot of fun. She always called me Pollyanna. My thoughts and prayers are with all of her family.
