Ryan Russell Yapp, 33, of Belvidere, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at his residence in West Hollywood, California. Born July 29, 1985 in Rockford, Illinois, the son of Kevin and Debra (Field) Yapp. Ryan graduated from Belvidere High School in 2003 and worked in the hospitality field, helping patrons throughout his life. By nature, Ryan was a caring individual who had an innate ability and desire to aid others in their needs. As a child, Ryan loved adventurous, year-round vacationing with family and friends, ranging from snowmobile trips at the cabin in northern Wisconsin to summer trips, enjoying water sports in the Ozarks. His passion for travel extended into his adult years, when Ryan traveled to all parts of the world, including Hong Kong, London, Milan, Paris, Rome and several cities in the old USSR. Subsequently, he called many places home, including Toronto, New York City and Los Angeles.
Ryan is survived by his parents, Kevin and Debra Yapp; brother, Timothy Yapp (Blake Read); partner, Sanjay Hathiramani; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Predeceased by grandparents, Dale and Elsie (Hill) Field, Donald and Mae (Washa) Yapp; uncles, Stanly Yapp, Scott Erickson; and aunt, Susan (Yapp) Marshall.
Funeral service will be at 5:00 p.m. with a visitation from 2:00 p.m. until time of service on Saturday, March 23, 2019 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory-Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park 61111. Pastor Dan Herman of the Old Stone Church, Rockton will officiate the service.
