Robert "Bob" Gard Bienvenu

Robert (Bob) Gard Bienvenu, born on February 19, 1946 in Quincy, Illinois, to the late Patricia and the late Lloyd, passed away at age 72 on May 18, 2018 in Roscoe, Illinois after his long battle with cancer. He attended Harlem High School and Rock Valley College. Robert proudly served his country as a Hawk Missile Technician in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968 during the Vietnam War and he also worked in the Vending industry as the owner and operator of A Welcome Service Vending Company until he retired in 2012. Many of Robert's customers and co-workers though the years became fast friends because of Robert's quick wit, humor, and charm leading the way. 

Robert was the beloved husband of high school sweetheart Sandra Haye Bienvenu for 52 years. He is survived by his sons, Robert Jr. with wife Judy and Mark with wife JoAnne; sisters, Norma Pirrello and Julie Neslund; grandchildren, Benjamin and Christopher Bienvenu, Christopher and Nicolas Boggs; many nieces and nephews and special friend, Debbie Roum for helping Robert pass peacefully till the very end. Robert had a passion for woodworking. He loved to create special wood crafts in his wood shop for his family and friends.  He was a member of VFW Roscoe Post.
