Robert F. Sadler, 77, of Rockford, passed away Friday, December 28, 2018. He was born on June 14, 1941 in Bluefield, West Virginia to Fulton and Clara (Pruitt) Sadler. In 1962 Robert married Margaret Smith at St. James Catholic Church in Rockford. Robert was a veteran on the United States Army and went on to be a police officer, serving as a private eye for 17 years and later a sheriff deputy. He had a passion for classic cars and owed a 1953 Chevrolet. He enjoyed going to the casino and spending time at Rock Cut State Park. Robert was an avid Chicago Bears fan and would host cookouts for his family.
Survivors include his wife, Maggie; children, Theresa (Greg) Kammes, Tim (Anne) Sadler, Christine Foroutan, Kevin Sadler and Mary Wyah; grandchildren, Sebastian, Emily, Jake, Ally, Mallory, Jackson and Skyler; sister, Becky Moore. Predeceased by her parents; husband; brothers, Ricky and Johnny Sadler; sister, Emma Gray Wilson.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park, Illinois 61111 with Pastor Anthony Maynard officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Northern Illinois Hospice.
