Patrick E. O'Sullivan

Patrick O’Sullivan, 55, died suddenly on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 17, 2018. Patrick was born on December 13, 1962 in Paducah, Kentucky as the youngest of 10 (Irish Catholic Birth Control) to Donal and Catherine (Dodsworth) O'Sullivan. Patrick was a U.S. Marine Recon Operator, an Albuquerque Police Officer, a practicing CPA in the Rockford area, and the proud father of Collin. Patrick worked as the Controller of Stanley Steemer-Rockford Franchise over the last 13 years and as a public accountant to many in the Rockford and Chicago area since the mid 1990’s. Patrick enjoyed discussing his philosophy on life and politics with his family and friends, was an avid reader, and earlier in his adult years challenged himself through scuba diving and skydiving.  Patrick was known for offering the wisdom of Socrates while using the wit of an acerbic (“Look it up in the dictionary”) comedian.  Patrick had many acquaintances but if you were counted among his closest friends and family, he would have supported you with the tenacity of a bulldog and a loyalty second to none.  

Patrick is survived by his son, Collin; siblings, Sheila, Steve (Pat), Daniel (Karen), Moira, Michael (Deborah), and Niall O’Sullivan; numerous nieces and nephews; colleagues; clients; and friends.  Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Donal and Catherine O’Sullivan; and his sisters, Mary (Ray Jellerson), Kathleen Balke and Eileen O’Sullivan.  

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory, Roscoe Chapel, 11342 Main St., Roscoe, IL 61703 with Color Guard presentation at 2:00 p.m. and a memorial service to follow. In lieu of flowers, Patrick would have appreciated donations to either the Marine Reconnaissance Foundation or the Albuquerque Police Officers Association.
