Nancy J. Laye

Nancy J. Laye, 81, life long resident of Rockford passed away Thursday, August 9, 2018. Born February 21, 1937 in Rockford to Gunnar and Jeannette (Lundberg) Eklund. Graduate of West High School Class of 1955. Married Mal Laye on June 28, 1975 in Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Rockford. Managed Dians Added Dimensions for 7 years, owned and operated with her husband Laye’s TV and Electronic Services and later worked at Countryside Meats for 6 years until her retirement. A member of the Swedish Historical Society. Nancy enjoyed playing cards, bingo, puzzles, her beloved cat, Sophie and spending time with her family.

Survivors include son, Steve Anderson; step-sons, Dennis (Sarah) Laye, Tony (Lori) Laye; daughter-in-law, Laurie Laye; brother-in-law, Duaine Sippy; 7 grandchildren; special niece, Lynn Sippy Ebersole; special nephew, Jeff Sippy; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; husband, Mal; step-son, Michael Laye; and sister, Kristie Sippy.

Memorial visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2018 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory - Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park.
