Mary Sweeney Obituary

Mary E. Sweeney, 68, of Roscoe, passed away February 29, 2024, with her family by her side. She was born June 23, 1955, the daughter of Henry and Savina (Paoli) Hobba. She met her husband, Joseph Sweeney, her senior year of high school at Jefferson and they were married December 3, 1976, in Holy Family Catholic Church. She owned and operated Mary's By Design for 24 years with her daughter, Beth. She closed the business in August of 2022 to enjoy retirement. Mary loved to spend time with her family and traveling.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph; children, Elizabeth (John) Branyan and Sarah (Brendan) Stevens; grandchildren, Benjamin, Abigail, Isabel, Oliver, Eleanor, and Everett; sisters, Paula Schwebke and Nancy Hobba; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Henry and Savina Hobba.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
