Marilyn "Sue" Zimmerman, 80, of Roscoe, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2019. She was born on April 11, 1938, in Rockford to Gerald and Della (Rush) Smuck. Sue married her loving husband Robert "Bob" on November 21, 1956.
Sue was always a woman of God, praying and reading her Bible daily. Her beliefs shown through with being a charitable woman, giving anything she could to help others. Sue was known for always putting others before herself.
Sue most enjoyed the time she spent with her loved ones. Between holidays, baking days, random pop-ins, or birthdays, spending time with her family and friends held a precious place in her heart. Each of these gatherings always ended with a cup of coffee, piece of peanut butter fudge, and a few games of dice.
Survivors include children, Cathy (Joe) Vincere and Janet (David) Dunbaugh; grandchildren, Thomas Haring, Jenna Haring, Ashleigh Dunbaugh, Joshua Dunbaugh, McKenzie Dunbaugh (Riley Pitney), and Jacob Dunbaugh; great-grandchild, Landon Orozco; sister, Nancy Spray; brother, Larry Smuck; sister-in-law, Dorothy Smuck; and lifelong friend Rosie Buchner. Predeceased by husband, Bob; parents; brother, Ronald Smuck; sister, Cherie Hood; and sister-in-law, Sherry Smuck.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 8, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park, Illinois 61111 with Pastor Gordy Smith officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
