Marguerite Hubbard, 69, of Poplar Grove passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018. She was born in Elmhurst, the younger of a set of twins, to Edward and Mary Margaret (Kapp) Hinchley on October 23, 1948. She graduated from Proviso West High School in 1966 and earned a B.A. from Elmhurst College in 1970. She received her master’s degree from the University of Illinois and taught K-12 music in Bellflower, IL School District. She later taught in the Belvidere School District 200 elementary school, completing 33 years in Illinois Music Education. She was a wonderful pianist and had a beautiful singing voice. She married Gary Hubbard on June 10, 1989 in Rockford. Member of Central Christian Church. Through the years she and her husband enjoyed concerts, dancing and travel.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Hubbard; her twin sister, Marilyn Nielsen of Edgerton, WI; step children, Audrey (Jeff) Marchillo, Todd Hubbard; grandson, Andrew Marchillo; step grandsons, Alex, Danny and Jake Marchillo; and nieces, Melissa Nielson Schramm and Joy Harwood. Predeceased by parents; in-laws, Clyde and Nancy Hubbard; and nephew, Brett Nielsen; brother-in-law, James Nielsen. She will be greatly missed by her family.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 19, 2018 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory – Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park and again from 9:00 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2018 until service time at 10:00 a.m. with Minister Sherm Nichols officiating.
