Maranette Caroline Church

Maranette Caroline Church, 82, of Rockford passed away Monday, February 5, 2018. Born April 14, 1935 in Rockford to Ernest and Dorothy (Littlejohn) Swanson. Married Orlin Church April 21, 1951 in Paragould, AR. Employed at National Lock and later in life at Best Western Hotel in Rice Lake, WI. A 50-year member of Cherry Valley Order of the Eastern Star #478. Maranette also enjoyed garage saling, going to the casinos, and crossword puzzles.

Survivors include husband, Orlin Church; daughter, Peggy (Rodger) Swing; son, James Church; granddaughters, Alison (Andy) Salo, Amy (Tony) Mangano; grandson, Michael Church; step-granddaughters, Kim (Jeff) Loendorf, Andrea Kaiser; great-grandchildren, Ava and Aiden Salo, Alayna and Elise Mangano, Kendall Loendorf; sister, Pamela (Jack) Wormington; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; brothers, Richard Swanson, James Swanson; sisters, Betty Ann Swanson, Doreen Fedele, Virginia Baker, and Beverly Otwell. A special thank you to the staff of Heartland Hospice, especially for her angels who cared for her with so much love and compassion, Claudine, Cassie, Corey, Danielle, Deb, Nikki, and Joe.

Memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory–Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park with a visitation from 2:00 p.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Heartland Hospice.
