What a great guy!! Larry serviced my cars for 30 years, ever since we moved to a neighborhood near the shop. A smart intuitive technician who wouldn't give up. When I took a 91 Chrysler to him that was stalling in the middle of traffic, Larry kept diagnosing till he discovered that the OEM crankshaft sensor was bad, and on top of that, the replacement part from the Chrysler dealer was bad too, and Larry found that the OEM parts had a design flaw. So he replaced with an aftermarket part and we never had a problem again. And he charged for labor one time and for the one part. Pretty hard to find professionals like that anymore. Rest In Peace Larry,

Oh, I am so sad! I absolutely adored Larry. Larry was my mechanic way back in 1977 when I had an Opel Kadett and no one would work on "foreign" cars. Over the years I took my cars to him; I'll never forget the day I took my Ford Fiesta there and Larry had to order a part for it. In the meantime, I traded the Fiesta for a Nissan Sentra, but I told the people at the Nissan garage to be sure to contact Larry Powder and follow up on the repair. They were so stunned that they didn't even upcharge me. Larry was an honest, kind man with integrity, strong family values, a warmth that twinkled behind his initial "gruffness" - haha - I always liked him and enjoyed working with him. Larry never had the joy of dealing with my PT Cruiser, and I have a Kia Soul now---yet I have always thought about Larry and wondered how he was doing. He was much too young to die! My heart breaks for your family - what an enormous loss. May God bless you and keep you, and may you remember how many lives Larry touched - especially the one of this 68-year old woman who was 27 when I first met him. Rest in Peace, Larry. The world is a sorrier place without you.

Dear Mike and Family,
We are so sorry for your loss. I have known Larry for almost 40 years. He was quick with a smile and a laugh. I knew that when I handed my car over to Larry, he would solve the auto problem...and work at it until he did. He had my complete trust and loyalty. Larry was a true and honest man.

His passing leaves a hole in your hearts and in the family. He will be missed by many.

With sympathy,
Sheryl Hutchinson

We were fortunate to have Larry as a friend and car repairman for many years. Our sympathies go out to Carol and Mike and the rest of the family as they mourn the loss of a great man of service.
