Kathleen "Kathy" D. Beyer

Kathleen “Kathy” D. Beyer, 69, of Machesney Park, IL passed away in her daughter’s home on Saturday, August 26, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Kathy was born on December 28, 1947 in East St. Louis to Robert and Doris (Dean) Schmidt. She was a widow of LeRoy L. Beyer. Kathy was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also had a love for her cats. Kathy was a current member of Grace Lutheran Church, and former member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. She volunteered for many organizations in the Rockford area.

Survived and missed by her children, Brian Beyer of Machesney Park, Amber (Jeremiah) Lerch of Machesney Park, Heather (Dave) Sankey of Roscoe, Mike (Tracy) Beyer of Machesney Park, and Lisa (Brian) Smith of Rockford; grandchildren, Haylee, Alyssa, and Kaiden Lerch, Kaitlyn Durham, Lauren, Cole, and Liam Sankey, Brody Beyer, Haley and Madalyn Williams, and Sydney Crenshaw; siblings, Karen Guler, Kirk (Linda) Schmidt, Robert (Karen) Schmidt, Karla (James) Drehoble, and Holly (Carl) Patterson; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents and husband.

Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 1, 2017 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory - Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park, officiated by Rev. Gary Park, with a visitation from 5:00 p.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. The family would also like to thank Mercy Health Hospice for their compassionate care.
