Karen A. Danekas

Karen A. Danekas, 58, of Rockton passed away after a courageous battle with a long illness. Born January 23, 1961 in Morris to Fred and Helen (Ohms) Block. Married Steve Danekas on March 4, 1995 in Rochelle. Karen was known for her warm heart, kindness and generosity.

Karen is survived by her loving husband, Steve Danekas of Rockton; her memory is left to be cherished by her loving children, Andrew (Sherti) Schmitt of Rockfalls, Megan (David) Catalanotto of Roscoe, Ashley Danekas of Burlington, IA, Zachary (Ben Sugam) Danekas of Minneapolis, MN, Nicholas Danekas of Machesney Park; loving grandmother of 3 grandchildren; beloved daughter of, Helen Block; loving sister of, John (Debbie) Block, Jeff Block and Julie (Steve) Pyle. Predeceased by father, Fred Block.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 19, 2019 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory – Roscoe Chapel, 11342 Main Street, Roscoe. Burial in Rockton Township Cemetery, Rockton. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 18, 2019 in the funeral home and again Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family to be used in Karen’s name at a later date.
