Joseph Librizzi, 86, of Rockford passed in peace after a long illness on Wednesday, August 14, 2019, 10 days shy of his 87th birthday. A proud veteran of the US Air Force. Retired as a weatherman for the US National Weather Service and Chicago Rockford International Airport. Joe was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan and horseracing fan. He also was a proud and loving owner of his dog and companion, Nuby.
He was a beloved husband of the late Maria (Patalano) Librizzi; father of the late Anna Marie Triggs; grandfather of Joey Triggs; brother of Antionette (Librizzi) Zambuto; great-grandfather; uncle; great-uncle; great-great uncle to many nieces and nephews; and beloved relative and friend to many.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2019 in Saint Julie Billiart Catholic Church, 7399 W. 159th Street, Tinley Park. Burial in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Evergreen Park. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until time of mass in the church.
