Joan Elward Obituary

Joan A. Elward, 93, of Wabash, Indiana, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2019. She was born on March 5, 1926 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Andrew and Edith (Auer) Hartman. Joan married Dr. Carl J. Elward on October 13, 1945. They were married for 71 years. Joan was a loving and devoted wife and mother.

Survivors include her six children, Susan (Robert) Thacker of Atlanta, Georgia, Karen (Steve) Littrell of Lebanon, Indiana, Janet Ulrich of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Michael (Sherri) Elward of Roann, Indiana, Patrick (Ellen) Elward of Fishers, Indiana and Teri (Jeff) Caron of Rockford, Illinois; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband, Dr. Carl J. Elward; parents; one brother and one sister.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
