James "Jamie" E. Hansen, 46, of South Beloit, IL, passed away unexpectedly on August 8, 2019 at Rush University Hospital in Chicago, IL surrounded by family. James was born in Beloit, WI on January 10, 1973. He graduated from Turner High School in 1991. He married Chris Laird on April 14, 2012. James worked as a train conductor for Union Pacific Railroad for the past 16 years, and loved his work family. He is avidly known for his unforgettable smile, and ability to help anyone in need. He enjoyed rock music, nature, hunting, collecting various things, watching his favorite sports teams, and most of all, spending time with his family and dogs.
James is survived by his wife, Chris (Laird) Hansen; children, Savanna, Rhys, and Tucker; parents, Dean (MaryJo) Hansen from Loves Park, IL and Elaine (Ron) Entrikin from Port Charlotte, FL; 2 brothers, Adrian (Dena) Hansen from Beloit, WI, and Shannon (Tami) Hansen from Soldiers Grove, WI; step-siblings, Brett and Andy Geiger; lifelong best friend, Mike Blum and many beloved, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Mike and Jeanne (Williams) McCormick of Gays Mills, WI; and paternal grandparents, Emily (Popp) Sharp from Richland Center, WI, and LaVon Hansen from Soldiers Grove, WI.
The visitation will be held on Monday, August 12, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory, Roscoe Chapel, 11342 Main St., Roscoe, IL 61073. A memorial service will immediately follow the visitation at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Joe Militello officiating.
