Jacquelin A. Walborn, 93, passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Fair Oaks Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in South Beloit, IL. Born in Portsmouth, OH. She graduated from Huntington High School in Huntington, West Virginia in 1943. She joined the United States Cadet Nurse Corps during WWII after Pearl Harbor and attended Parkview Methodist Nursing School and graduated in 1946. Jacquelin was a member of Trinity English Lutheran Church. She was a very classy lady; her caring heart and love for the ocean was shared by her family. She loved vacations in Siesta Key, Florida, laying on the beach and searching for shells. When she would return home with her shells, she would make beautiful crafts with them and sell at craft bazaars or give as gifts.
She is survived by her sons, John M. (Diana) Walborn of Plano, Texas, Jeffery (Jana) Walborn of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Kurt (Lisa) Walborn of Virginia Beach, Virginia; daughters, Cheryl (Richard) Hageman of Nashville, Tennessee; Lori (Jon) Schlemmer, of Roscoe, IL; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; along with specials friends, Mark (Elizabeth) Bloom, Emily and Maddie of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Jacquelin was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin G. (Anna Thelma) Morris; husband, John M. Walborn, Jr.; daughter, Audree L. Dean and great-granddaughter, Katie A. Baker.
Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Trinity English Lutheran Church, 450 W. Washington Blvd., Fort Wayne, Indiana with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the church with Pastor Kathleen Haller officiating. Memorials to Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary, 111 N. 1st Street, Rockford, IL 61107, where her granddaughter, Grace, volunteers.
