Harry M. Hines, Jr.

Harry M. Hines, Jr., 66, of Rockford, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2018. He was born on April 26, 1952 in Rockford to Harry and Ruby (Temple) Hines, Sr. Harry married Susan Benedetto on May 1, 1971 in Rockford. He worked at Chrysler for over 40 years, retiring in 2008. Harry enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a hard worker with a great sense of humor who was always there for his family and friends. Harry had a passion for restoring cars, attending car shows and watching Nascar. He also enjoyed riding his Harley.

Survivors include his wife, Susan; children, Nicole (Greg) Strom and Jon (Lauren Spencer) Hines; grandchildren, Brianna and Lilly Strom; brothers, John Crossno and Paul Hines; sister, Mary Hines; special brothers-in-laws, Jim (Patty) Benedetto, Ron (Julie) Brown and Tom Brown; sisters-in-laws, Mary (Rick) McGlynn and Deborah (Geoff) Bauer; mother-in-law, Joy Cutsforth; special friends, Gayle and Becky, Don and Ellen; dog, Chloe; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; one brother and one sister. 

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park, Illinois 61111 with Pastor Anthony Maynard officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Rockford Rescue Mission, 715 W. State St., Rockford, Illinois 61102.
