Guy "Snoopy" E. Stirts

Guy E. "Snoopy" Stirts, 95, of Roscoe, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, August 29, 2017. He was born on April 29, 1922. Guy Married Betty Jackson on April 30, 1985. Guy served in both World War II and the Korean War.  He was self-employed at Allen Street Auto Body.  He also managed the bar at the VFW in Roscoe, IL.  He was the dispatcher for 25 years at the Harlem Roscoe Fire Department until retirement in 2015.  Guy was a fan of Nascar Racing and also enjoyed snowmobiles.

Survivors include his children, Shirley Lindaas, Judy (Dick) Fry, Phoebe (Larry Hudson) Glackin and Bud (Melba) Stirts; Betty’s children and Guy’s extended family, Diana (Rayford) Sacrider, Dennis (Penny) Jackson, Dale (Debra) Jackson and Deborah (Danny Noe) Griffis; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Luke Stirts; sister, Darlene Reichert.  Predeceased by his parents, first wife, Phoebe and second wife, Betty; one brother and one sister. 

Funeral service will be held on Saturday September 2, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory, Roscoe Chapel, 11342 Main Street, Roscoe with visitation from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Harlem-Roscoe Fire Department.
