Gary Leonard Rose

Gary Leonard Rose, 73, of Machesney Park went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 14, 2019. Born December 5, 1945 in Mason City, IA to Richard H. and Hazel (Field) Rose. A veteran of the US Navy serving during the Vietnam War years 1967-1969.  Married Bobette Carlson on August 19, 1967 in Rockford. Employed for 28 years at Goss Printing/Rockwell and 16 years at Gates Rubber Company. A member of Rock Church. Gary loved gospel music, the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs.

Survivors include wife, Bobette Rose; children, Lorina “Lori” Roiger, Shawn (Becky) Rose, Chad (Sandra) Rose; grandchildren, Wyatt Roiger, Calissa “Cali” Roiger, Brayden Rose, Grayson Rose, Landon Rose; brother, Daniel (Janet) Rose; sister-in-law, Marge Rose; nephews, Joe Rose, Jan Rose, Darin Rose, DJ Rose; niece, Danielle Rose; and several loving family members. Predeceased by parents and brother, Richard Rose, Jr.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2019 in Rock Church, 6732 Harrison Avenue, Rockford with a visitation at 10:00 a.m. A luncheon to immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family to be used in Gary’s name at a later date.
