Gabriel A. Haun

Gabriel A. Haun, 19, of Loves Park, IL completed his journey on this Earth on Monday, February 12, 2018 after a battle against depression. He was born January 27, 1999 to Joseph and Maria (Tijerina) Haun. He was a 2017 graduate of Harlem High School where he loved playing football, running track and “giving them the business”.

Survivors include his mother, Maria (Rob) Falzone; father, Joe (Tina Gipson) Haun; biological mother, Cinnamon Fletcher; two sisters, Cali and Aaliyah; brother, Cody; step-sister Amirah; grandparents, Susan (Jerry) Shabani; Russ Haun and Charles Fletcher; aunt, Vanessa (Courtney Hill) Shabani; uncles, David (Sandy) and Eric (Julie) Tijerina, Chad Haun, Manish (Akta) Bhatt; many dear cousins and numerous friends; track relay teammates, Jayvious Johnson, Haakon Storm, Anthony Byrne; special friends, Bianca Patlan and Alyssa McKiski.

Gabe had a smile that would brighten up any room. Everyone that knew him can tell a story about how he made them laugh and smile. He had a passion for running track and avoiding his homework. Gabe loved his track and football teammates who were all like family to him. Gabe had a way of inspiring others to push themselves beyond what they thought they were capable of achieving. “Taking it easy won’t get you anywhere.” Gabe always put forth his best effort when he was on the field or the track. He wanted everyone to be proud of him and his accomplishments. He respected all of his coaches through the years, having a special bond and love for Coach Oliveri. Fly high Mista Gabe. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park, with Pastor Anthony Maynard officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Memorial contribution to the Harlem Fan's Club.
