Edward Joseph Pastor, 88, of Rockford, IL passed away Sunday, November 25, 2018. Born November 26, 1929 in Spring Valley, IL to Edward and Elizabeth (Lunn) Pizzamiglio. Served in the US Army during the Korean War. Held as a Prisoner of War in Korea; recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Medal. Participated in Vet Doc program where he was honored for his service in Korea. Received his bachelor’s degree from Chicago State University. Married Josephine Uranich on November 24, 1956 in Oglesby, IL. Employed in Hospital Information Systems in the Rockford and Chicago areas. Edward enjoyed woodworking, gardening, fishing and cooking.
Survived by wife of 62 years Josephine Pastor; children, Mark (Sue) Pastor, Mary (Bradlee) Anderson, Joanne (Al) Pudelek, Theresa (Joe) Lopez; grandchildren, Jeremy (Brienne), John (Tasha), Jason (Erin), Adam, Abbie, Matthew, Jessica; great grandchildren, Owen, Elliott, Emery, Olivia, Michael, Ty Riley, Jace, Cayden, Amelia; brother, Norman Pizzamiglio; and sister, Sharon McInnes. Predeceased by granddaughter, Amy; great granddaughter, Ellie May; and siblings, Buddy, Lucille, and Betty.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 29, 2018 in Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Road. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2018 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory – Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park, and again Thursday in the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of mass. Burial in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Rockford.
