I am so saddened to hear the news of Ms. Dorothy’s passing. She worked for me for many years in the bakery at Winn Dixie. I always felt like I was working with my own Grandma, as they are the same age and temperament. She was so independent even after her husband passed. I remember one day she telling me that she had an appointment at the hospital for a minor test and that she had a ride home, but not there , she was going to walk. I showed up at her house the morning of the appointment, to her surprise, to take her,how could I let her walk there? She always loved when her son would come down and do things on her “ honey do” list, or going to Disney with her daughter and grandkids. I left Winn Dixie at the end of 2013 after an illness. I often wondered if “the kids” had finally talked Ms. Dorothy into moving back up north to be closer. My life has definitely been brighter from knowing Ms. Dorothy.❤️

My heart is heavy with this very sad news. My daughters and I loved Miss Dorothy very much.She brought soo much joy to my life.Working together was such an absolute honor.Such a wonderful,loving woman.Very sorry for your loss.Rest in Paradise,Miss Dorothy💜
