Delphina “Dee Dee” Rodriguez Mowers, 73, of Rockford, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2019. She was born on December 20, 1945 in Holland, MI. She lived in Saginaw, Mi for nine years before moving to Rockford. Although, Dee Dee was born with TB, which resulted in a lung removal in her teens and was mostly deaf in both ears she could still run circles around anyone. With her limited education, she still perservered and Goodwill trained her for factory work. She worked at GC Electronics before taking a housekeeping position at Swedish American Hospital for several years. After, she was one of the first employees hired at American TV and rose to Housekeeping Supervisor until her health declined and she was forced to go onto disability. She proudly had her own cleaning business for the last 25 years which most of her clients became like family members to her and to them because that’s just how she was. Dee Dee was married in 1973 and had one daughter, Roxanne Mowers Faire (Christopher). She was a proud grandmother to Jaden Channing Faire. She loved the Cubs, the Bears, bowling, darts, BINGO and most of all, bus trips to the casino with her friends.
Survived by Daughter Roxanne Faire; son- in- Law, Christopher Faire; Grandson, Jaden; ex-husband, Larry; brother-in-law, Bruce (Lori) Mowers; sister-in-law, Sharon Mowers; sister, Marcy (Ray); brother, Joe (Ramona) Rodriguez and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
Dee Dee was a dedicated wife, the most amazing, giving mother, special aunt and loyal friend. She will be missed by all who were lucky enough in life to know her.
A celebration of Dee Dee’s life was held on August 11, 2019 at The American Legion.
