David James Alfred Nelson

David James Alfred Nelson, 67, of Belvidere passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018. Born October 31, 1951 in Kirkland, IL to Ernest L. and Sophie Angela (Nelson) Nelson.  David studied drafting at Southern Illinois University and worked in the drafting field in manufacturing.  David was a member of Zion Lutheran Church-Belvidere where he was Superintendent of Sunday School for several years.  He helped in different capacities at the church such as food drives, Fair Ground projects, etc.  From the time his parents reached 70, he took care of them until his mother was 94.  He also provided financial support for his sisters and their families when needed.

Survivors include his brother, Arthur (Judy) Nelson of Bella Vista, Arkansas.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2018 in Honquest Famiy Funeral Home with Crematory - Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Private burial in Highland Garden of Memories, Belvidere.
