David Erwin Obituary

David L. Erwin, 78, of Rockford passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018. Born April 15, 1940 in Dekalb to Marion Burdette and Mildred Viola (Johnson) Erwin. A veteran of the US Navy. Married Joyce Schimmer on October 31, 1992 in Galena. Employed as an over the road truck driver for several different companies in Rockford. David enjoyed fishing, woodworking and raising and racing pigeons.

Survivors include wife, Joyce Erwin of Rockford; sons, Dean (Patty) Erwin of Liberty, MO, Daniel (Debbie) Erwin of Rockford; 3 step sons; grandchildren, Breanna (Mike) Cohen, Joshua Erwin, Dillon Erwin, Ian Erwin, Sydney Erwin; 6 step grandchildren; great grandson, Charles Cohen; and brother, Barry (Lucille) Erwin of Rockford. Predeceased by parents.

Memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2018 in Rockford Park District Nicholas Conservatory, 1354 N. 2nd Street, Rockford.
