Anne L. Sneed, 94, of Rockford, passed away peacefully December 20, 2018. She was born September 22, 1924 in Chicago to Reinhardt and Rena (Stevens) Soencksen. Anne was a WWII Navy Veteran. Married Dr. William Sneed in 1973. Anne worked as a librarian at the Rockford Public Library for many decades. She was a member of the Rockford Country Club, University Club and served on the board of Rockford Day Nursery. Anne led a vivacious life fueled by a passion for art, literature and social justice. She enjoyed travel, bridge and book club. Anne loved her family and friends. Her soul remains forever in our hearts.
Survivors include her children, Christopher Lewis, Pamela (Steve Rosenbaum) Jameson, Bradford (Gerra) Lewis and Amanda (Dan Yuccas) Lewis; step-children, Sam Sneed, Brian (Barb Saar) Sneed, Andy (Kristen) Sneed; grandchildren, Amy (Jamie) Pickens and Tera (Shane) Woody; great-grandchildren, Ian, Allison, Jonah, Ava and Jordan; special daughter-in-law, Joanne Lewis; special brother-in-law, Shelly Weiser and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on February 2, 2019 at The Unitarian Universalist Church, 4848 Turner St., Rockford, Illinois 61107. Memorial contributions can be made to The Unitarian Universalist Church or charity of choice.
