Anita Ann Ballinger, 93, of Rockford passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2019. Born January 12, 1926 in Rockford, the daughter of Guisseppe and Angelena (Tarvamina) Sciortino. Retired from Mattson Machine, Rockford. A member of Holy Family Catholic Church, St. Ambrogio Society and the Moose Club. Anita enjoyed playing bridge, cards, playing bingo, casino trips, garage saling, crocheting, knitting, watching Abbot and Costello movies. She will be remembered for her cooking, especially her homemade spaghetti, lasagna and pies. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include children, Deanna (Tom) Ward, Joanne Barrett, Lisa (John) Yeruski; grandchildren, Jennifer (Justin) Urban, Steven (Brooke) St. John, Stephanie Ward, Joe (Rosemary) Slater, Lindsey (Chuck) Finkenhofer, Brian (Tiffany) Winkler, Alex Barrett, Kali Barrett, Kyle Yeruski; several great grandchildren; sister, Jean Johnson; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; and many sisters and brothers.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2019 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory – Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park with a visitation from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family.
