James Phillip Guglielmetti, 86, of Rockford, passed away peacefully with his family by his side after a short illness on April 23, 2024. Jim married Karen Skaggs in 1959. Jim bartended at Victory Tap, was in sales at Western Auto and retired from Browning Ferris Industries in 1996. He was an avid golfer, liked taking his walks in the park, and had a passion for growing tomatoes. He loved his family and he loved to go fishing. Whether it be in Minnesota or the Ozarks, if he had his family with him, he was never happier.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Karen; children, Rocco (Jill) Guglielmetti, Micky (George) DeMarco and Trisha (Jim) Simonovich; grandchildren, Kristen Guglielmetti, Chad Guglielmetti, Dominic DeMarco, Selena Orsak, Anthony DeMarco, Corey Konieczki, Rachel Snyder, Leslie Biesher and Ben Simonovich; and nine great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, John and Merle Guglielmetti; sister, Sandy Boose; brother, John (Lou) Guglielmetti; and son-in-law, Brett Konieczki.
Special thanks to all the doctors and nurses in the hospital and the Mercy Hospice staff.
