Carolyn J. Hopper

Carolyn J. Hopper, 77, of Loves Park, joined her beloved husband to be with the Lord on April 21, 2024.  She was born on July 4, 1946 in the town of Dowagiac, MI.  She married William T. Hopper on May 29, 1962 and they were happily married for 47 years before his passing.  Carolyn was a homemaker all her life, taking care of her husband, and together they raised five children.  She also helped with raising their oldest grandchild.  She loved reading novels, bowling, flower gardening and crocheting.  When crocheting, she loved giving them as gifts.  

Carolyn is survived by four of her children, Roy, Brenda (Andy), Christy (Richard), and Brian; seven grandchildren, Candy Jane, Thomas (Brenda T.), Katie, Ashli, Erik (Terreasa), Jessica (Thomas B.) and Summer (Tyler); ten great-granddaughters; five great-grandsons; and one new great-great-granddaughter, Aminah; as well as her fur baby buddy.  She was predeceased by her husband, William; her parents, Ancle Cavitt and Lillian (Stephens) Cavitt; mother-in-law, "Ma" Lois Burton; two children, Candy Kay and Tommy; and two brothers, Raymond and Steven Cavitt. 

Service will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 2, 2024 in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory-Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park with a visitation on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Burial will be in Scottish Argyle Cemetery, Caledonia, IL.
