William "Bill" E. Watters, Jr.

William “Bill” E. Watters, Jr., 61, of Rockford died Wednesday, November 8, 2017, in his home.  Born October 19, 1956 in Rockford, the son of William and Irla (Trenholm) Watters.  He was a proud veteran of the US Marine Corp and was grateful for the opportunity to see the world in service of his country.  Bill loved riding his Harley, being outdoors, playing softball, pitching horseshoes, and having a beer with his buddies.  He was a loyal friend and loving father.  His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the SM&SF Club and the Eagles Club. Bill was a longtime employee of CamCar.

Bill is survived by his son, William (Amber) Watters III of Rockford; daughters, Brooke “Puntin” Watters (Kevin Hare) of Crystal Lake, Brittany (Elliot) Welsh of Chicago; stepdaughter, Amy McLane; grandchildren, Logan Cappy, Emma Welsh, Wren Watters, Penelope Welsh; great-granddaughter Noville; sister, Coral (Mike) Musso;  brothers, Harold Watters, Russell Watters, Keith (Martha) Watters, Shaun Watters, mother of his children, Vicki (Ronald) Bilodeau; daughter at heart, Alli Swick; and many other loving family and friends. Predeceased by his parents. The family would like to thank Transitions Hospice, Swedish American Home Health, the VA, and Bill’s little brother, Shaun, who was his ever-loyal caregiver.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 13, 2017 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory – Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park with a visitation from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family to be used in Bill’s name at a later date.
