Sandra Lee Abbott

Sandra Lee Abbott, 75, of Machesney Park, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at 5:06 p.m.  surrounded by all her children and husband. Born March 25, 1942 as Sandra Lee Kresanek, daughter of Edward Kresanek and Frances Wilhelmina Tietge in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Sandra was sibling to Theresa (Walls) Kresanek, John Kresanek, Barbara (Dutenhafer) Kresanek, Fritz Kresanek and Don Tietge. On December 17, 1960 Sandra married her loving husband, James L. Abbott in Rockford, Illinois. They were happily married for 56 years. Some of Sandra’s greatest passions included her grandchildren, cooking, and crocheting. (And “Wal-marts” as she used to call it).

Sandra was survived by her husband, James; three sons, Daniel (Kelly), Edward (Jane) and Michael (Sylvia) Abbott; 6 grand-children and 9 great grand-children; one sister in law, Linda Hawk.

A celebration of the life for Sandra Abbott will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Kilbuck Bluffs Forest Preserve with blessing over food line at 2:00 p.m. (This is where Mom held her last Family Reunion)

Some of us will be there as early as 8:00 a.m. Come join as early as you want, we intend on food line starting at 2:00 p.m. Park closes at dark if you want to hang around a while. We will simply have pictures of her life and stories we might share of her. Please do not bring flowers. Cards are welcome. We will be very casual, so be comfortable! We are providing chili and sloppy joes and we ask everyone else to bring a dish to pass if you can, if not, bring yourselves! You might pack a chair, but there are tables there. We will be at the first shelter which has a BBQ area and a fireplace and horseshoes pit (we have horseshoes). Look for the signs at the entrance.
