Pamela "Pam" S. Komarec

Pamela “Pam” S. Komarec, 57, of Roscoe passed away at 5:14 p.m. Monday, December 4, 2017 in her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was the widow to Ted Komarec, they shared 30 years of marriage together. Born May 3, 1960 in Dixon, the daughter of Lloyd and Barbara Medlar. She graduated from East High School, class of 1978. She went on to cosmetology school and was a hairdresser for a few years. Pam loved people and working in retail. She worked in a craft store, and managed the local gas station for years. A beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and wife. Pam was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Rockford. Not even five months ago Pam went sky diving. Pam enjoyed horses, doing puzzles, crafts, and life. She loved to do projects with her grandchildren. They were her reason to live, and the reason she fought so hard. Pam will forever be remembered by many as “mom.” She was the cool mom, the talented sister, the world's greatest grandma, and the most selfless and strong woman. Pam was a friend to anyone, and she showed us all what being strong really is.

Survivors include parents, Lloyd and Barbara Medlar; sisters, Deborah (Ted) Peterson, Laurie (Andrew) McLain; sons, John Komarec, Michael Komarec; grandchildren, Ariel, Daniel, JaQuela, and Kory (Elizabeth Barnett). Predeceased by Ted (Tajic) Komarec.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 11, 2017 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory –  Roscoe Chapel, 11342 Main Street Roscoe. Interment in Rockton Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 10, 2017 in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.
