Michael B. Daugherty

MICHAEL BRUCE DAUGHERTY, 64 ROCKFORD – Michael Bruce Daugherty, 64, of Rockford passed away Monday, March 21, 2011. Born August 24, 1946, in Rockford, the son of Warren Bruce Daugherty and Gertrude (Cline) Daugherty. Michael enlisted to the US Army after graduating from West High School in 1964 where he became a veteran of the Vietnam War. After returning home, Michael was married to Florence M. Nardiello on August 24, 1968. Michael was an avid bowler and golfer and attained many achievements and awards throughout the years of leagues and tournaments. Michael worked 30+ years as a Computer Service Technician and after retirement worked with disabled veterans. Michael was a lifetime member of the VFW and ABC (now USBC). Survived by wife, Florence Nardiello- Daugherty; sons Chris (Lara) Daugherty and Peter Daugherty; brother, Bill (Sue) Daugherty and sister, Pam Daugherty; grandchild, Aaron Daugherty; several nieces, nephews, and special friends. Predeceased by son, Michael Vincent; mother, Gertrude and father, Warren Bruce; sisters, Patricia Donahue and Denise Wahl. Funeral service will be Friday, March 25, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory, Rockford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd. Visitation will be Thursday, March 24, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial in Poplar Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers; memorials may be made to Florence Daugherty; with donation being made to William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital of Madison, WI.
