Marla "Kim" L. Hathaway

Marla "Kim" Leone Hathaway, 81, of Rockford passed away on Monday, June 20, 2016.  Born in Milwaukee, WI on November 6, 1934, to Donald D. and Muriel L. (Cooley) Fraser; married Donald R. Hathaway on December 11, 1964.  Kim enjoyed antiquing, crafts, animals and the outdoors.  She at various times in her life designed clothes, was an interior decorator, a bookkeeper/accountant for Thrift-Remsen Printers, a salesperson for General Tire and was in charge of a phone room for a siding company.  She helped establish Credit Advisors in Rockford, worked for Meet and Eat delivering meals to the elderly and formed her own antique business called Crabtree Corner and had a booth in East State Antique Mall as well as in malls in many other towns. She was an active member in conducting classes for GROW Incorporated, the World Community Mental Health Movement, as well as a member of Court Street Methodist Church, North Towne Baptist Church and Rockford First, she presently attended Rock Church for several years.

She is survived by her husband, Don; children, Beckie (Brian) Blecker, Kirk (Jane) Hathaway, Katie (Mike) Harding, Scott Hathaway, Robert Bravo, Cindie (Doug) Olsen and Dawn (Russ) Rozanas; 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.  Predeceased by her parents.

Funeral service will be at 2:00pm with a Visitation from 1:00pm until the service on Saturday, June 25, 2016, at Rock Church, 6732 Harrison Avenue, Rockford, 61109.  Pastor Jared Katke will officiate. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.  Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory is honored to assist the family.
