Lottie Nyquist

Lottie Nyquist, 90, died on September 17, 2017. Born 1927 in Chicago, IL. Daughter of the late Joseph and Marcellina Kozlowski. On July 8, 1950, she married the love of her life, Dr. Edward G. Nyquist. She was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church of Rockford where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was a faithful blood donor and longtime reader to the blind on Northern Illinois Radio Service as well as a published past member of the Rockford Writers Guild and a brief member of the Literacy Council. Also volunteered as a Pink Lady at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. 

Survivors include her loving children, Susan (David) VanZandt, and their children Elizabeth VanZandt, April (Kevin) Libby, and Katie (Brian) Weicker and son Christopher (Kim) Nyquist and their children Scott Nyquist and Kelly (Nick) Jarosz; great-grandchildren include, Mary and Norah Weicker. Predeceased by parents; beloved husband of 52 years; brother, John (Irene) Kozlowski; and sister, Estelle (Paul) Truschke.  She loved her family, her friends, her garden and her dogs. She loved life.

Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 29, 2017 in Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Road, Rockford 61107. Private interment in St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Marianjoy Scholarship Program, 26W171 Roosevelt Road, Wheaton. IL 60187 or MarianjoyFoundation.org
