Lorraine Betty Peterson

Lorraine Betty Peterson, 94, of Rockford, passed away on Friday, April 6, 2018.  Born in Rockford on June 13, 1923 to Leonard and Katherine (Reinold) McCarthy.  Married Willard "Bill" Peterson on June 1, 1946; he predeceased her August 13, 2015.

Lorraine was active in the Marine Corp. Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed dancing and traveling.

Survived by her son, Randy (Kay) Peterson; daughters, Cheril (Gary) Richolson and Luanne (Steve) Hill; grandchildren, Tim (Beth) Peterson, Brandi (Chad) Smith, Eric (Rachael) Hill, Tom Peterson, Katie (Mike) Komro and Trace Richolson; great-grandchildren, Noah and Zachary Peterson and Dylan, Tyler and Logan Smith.  Predeceased by her parents; brother, Donald R. Boomhower and special friend, Esther Peterson.

Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, April 12, 2018 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory-Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park with a visitation from 10:30 a.m. until time of service. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
