Loretta Ruth Case, 98, of Roscoe, passed away at Fair Oaks Rehab in So. Beloit on April 29, 2017. Born January 13, 1919 in Rockford to Charles and Lora (Havens) Houston. She graduated from Rockford West High School and married Robert Case in 1936. Loretta was a very kind and hard working lady to all those who knew her. She worked as a farm wife, driving the farm equipment and doing everything except milking the cows. She also worked at the School for the Blind in Janesville, Wisconsin and the Goldie B. Floberg Center in Rockton. She loved her little house and having the grandchildren and neighbor kids over to bake cookies and play cards and spoons. She enjoyed mowing her own grass and taking care of her flowers.
Survivors include her son, James Case of Roscoe; daughter, Sherry Stratton of Fort Wayne, Indiana; grandchildren, Jennifer Case of Roscoe, Jill Case of Rockton, Gabriel (Heidi) Stratton of Fort Wayne, Indiana; great-grandchildren, Kristin (John) Merrick, Matthew (Kara) Bullard, Samuel Genore (USAF), Jacob Genore, Joshua Genore, Mackenzie Stratton and Caleb Stratton. Predeceased by her husband, Robert; son, Lawrence (Kay) Case; granddaughter, Carolyn Case; grandsons, Samuel Case and David (Terri) Bullard; brothers, Ken, Forest, Frank and William Houston; sisters, Ethel and Jeanette.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2017 in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory, Roscoe Chapel, 11342 Main St., Roscoe, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial in Highland Garden of Memories, Belvidere, IL.
