Lois E. LaFew

Lois E. LaFew, 79, of Rockford passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016. Born December 7, 1936 in Clarno Township, WI to Herbert and Bessie (Grabow) Anderson. Lois was a hardworking proud woman. She worked several years at the Prince Castle and then JL Clark. Whatever her job, she strived to do the best job possible, she was proud to become the first woman production supervisor at Nylint Toy Mfg. After retiring she continued working as a lunch lady/aftercare at Lutheran Academy at Alpine, where she enjoyed being with children, telling stories, and watching them play. Lois loved her independence and her home. She always said she had the best neighbors and never wanted to move. Our family would like to thank them for all the help they provided her over the years.

Survivors include son, Mike (Debbie) LaFew of Rockford; daughters, Valerie (Carl) Zier of Rock City, Betty Walker of Peoria, AZ, Rhonda LaFew of Rockford; grandchildren, Josh, Summer, Angel, Bethany (Brandon), Danielle, Ben, Ashley, Christopher, Tanner; 7 great grandchildren and 1 due in September; brother, Floyd (JoAnn) Anderson. Predeceased by parents; husband, Arnold; and sister, Sylvia Stone.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2016 in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory – Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park with Pastor Dan Wynard from Alpine Lutheran Church officiating. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service Thursday in the funeral home.
