I am deeply saddened hearing about the loss of Larry Lafayette and which to offer my condolences to Barb and the rest of the family . I have fond memories of the Lafayettes' growing up and have great memories of the coffee shop my mom would frequent and see all the regulars that would spend time there including Larry . May god bless you during this difficult time . I hope someday we will all meet again at the coffee shop in the sky where friends and family are waiting . Thank you

For Larry's Family,
I am so sad having read of Larry's passing. His smiles gave me joy as classmates at Summerdale Elementary, Roosevelt JHS, & West HS but equally when he attended my mother, Elsie Shores' visitation in 1988 and my brother, Horace Shores' visitation in 2009. He was "there" for many who could not be when our former teachers died. For example, in 2009 he told me of attending the former Miss Jane Webster's service. She was our third grade school teacher.
May Psalm 34:18 comfort you: "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
Wishing each of you daily sunshine from within,
Serena Shores Partch, WHS '62 married to Howard Partch, WHS '59
