"Kuhn Yai" Urai Plypoo

“Khun Yai”, Urai Plypoo, 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 22, 2017 in Roscoe, IL surrounded by her loving family.  Urai was born in Chiang Rai, Thailand in 1933 and was the 2nd out of 9 children of Ahy and Sook Sunantha.   She was married and widowed to Jumnean Plypoo.   She was an excellent homemaker and a loving, kind, and devoted mother and grandmother.  She loved animals and nature, and her favorite hobby was gardening.  She was a devout Buddhist and loved giving to others. All those who met her were charmed by her and loved her. 

Survivors include her brother, Pun Sunantha and family of Chiang Rai, Thailand and her sister, Sa-nguan Palee and family of Chiang Rai, Thailand; her daughter, Patcharee Plypoo, and her husband, Thomas Herrmann, of Roscoe, IL; her son, Vatchara Plaipu, and his wife, Pikul Plaipu, of Bangkok, Thailand; four grandchildren, Ohm Plypoo, Ahpa Plypoo, Kulawat Plaipu, Cholaporn Plaipu and their families; and one great-grandson, Pattaraporn Plaipu. 

Cremation will be on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Honquest Family Funeral Home-Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park.  This will be followed by a temple ceremony at Ratanaram Buddhist Temple, 4502-35th Street in Rockford, IL.  Private ashes ceremony will also be held both in the United States and in Thailand.
