Kenneth Brooks Barker, Jr.

Kenneth Brooks Barker, Jr., 55, of Roscoe passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2017. Born February 13, 1962 to Kenneth Brooks Barker Sr. and Virginia Stover. Received his Associates Degree from Rock Valley College and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa. Married Ramona Renea Boeke on September 17, 1994 in Rockford. Employed since 2002 for the Rockton Township Assessors Office, and prior to that for the Rockford Township Assessors Office for 16 years. An active member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, friend of Bill W for 21 years, worked with Girl Scouts, and 4H. A very family oriented man, Kenneth enjoyed spending time with his daughters and watching them compete in dog shows. He also loved listening to Christian music and going to concerts with his family.

Survivors include wife, Ramona Barker; children, Makayla Barker, Nicole Barker, Kenny (Melinda) Grom; mother, Virginia Barker-Jones; father, Kenneth (Nancy) Barker; siblings, Alan (Nicole) Barker, Elaine (Sean) Bruckner, Karen (John) Hyde, Thomas Kersey, Dawn (Chris) Lopez; mother and father-in-law, Sandy and Keith Boeke; brothers-in-law, Rob (Rhonda) Boeke, Ray (Tina) Boeke; nieces and nephews, Brad Boeke, Sarah Boeke, Olivia Barker, Doug Barker, Danielle Barker, Luke Bruckner, Ty Bruckner, Maddy Hyde, Michael Hyde and Lauren Kersey. Predeceased by step-father, Marshall Jones; and step-brothers, Dan Jones, and Matthew Jones.

Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 10, 2017 in Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 4055 N. Rockton Ave, Rockford with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial in Middle Creek Cemetery, Winnebago.
